Guitar & Ukulele Lessons at School
Charlie is a fully DBS checked, experienced guitar tutor with over seven years of expertise tutoring individuals and groups. He provides dynamic and inspiring music lessons for young people who want to put the fun back into learning an instrument.
Why Learn With Charlie?
In addition to his experience and friendly teaching manner, Charlie offers a direct approach when communicating with schools and parents. He does not provide the lessons through an agency or the local music service. As a result, he provides quality, focused tuition for the students at a price which cuts out any agency or management fee. It means Charlie can spend more time focussing on his own lessons and attending to each individual student's needs.
Will my child have the chance to perform?
Absolutely, yes all students who learn with Charlie will have the chance to perform at the end of every term (in agreement with the school). They will be able to perform anything they wish and they encouraged to do so as it provides a brilliant way to grow in confidence through music.
What age can children start learning?
Lessons can start for students as young as year one. The ukulele is a great place to start, in terms of physical size and ability, it's often great as a springboard to then move onto guitar.

Charlie has over seven years experience working as a guitar and ukulele tutor, he specialises in working with groups and inspiring children to learn music. What is Taught During The Lessons?
Students starting guitar lessons will learn from ‘The Beginner’s Guitar Bible’, a comprehensive learning method which provides the reader with a strong foundation of understanding and technique in 12 lessons. Students starting ukulele lessons will learn from ‘Absolute Beginners Ukulele,' a beginner's learning method which provides the student with a clear understanding of chords and basic strumming techniques.
There is also a great deal of additional music taught. From the latest pop songs to movie themes, TV shows and lots of music related activities. The emphasis of the lessons is to teach the students whilst engaging them, using music as a way of developing their confidence and encouraging them to play together.
A combination of UCAS linked syllabuses from Rockschool and Trinity Guildhall is taught once a firm foundation has been established. This gives the the students the chance to then choose to study the instrument further, with the possibility of gaining qualifications if they wish.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
Charlie recognises the importance of safeguarding children and his responsibility to do so. He holds a full DBS enhanced check, which is supplied to each school. He also ensures that he is kept up to date with each individual schools child protection and safeguarding procedures.
