Quick Guitar Tips - How To Play 'Le Freak'

Here is a quick tutorial on how to play some classic funk, 'Le Freak' by Chic - featuring Nile Rodgers on guitar. This example uses a heavily syncopated pattern with some pretty intense right hand muting.

An awareness of 16th note or (semiquaver) subdivisions will help you nail this one. Start by playing four muted 16th notes, accenting the first, using string up and down right hand strums. Then start repeating the pattern, its much easier once you have an understanding of the subdivisions to feel and hear the tune! Check out the video for a full tutorial.
